Last week marked a significant milestone for Lighthouse as our dedicated care team took the stage at the Resi ROCKS conference, hosted by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare. The spotlight was on our Young Parents and Babies (YP&B) program.
Lighthouse Foundation’s Therapeutic Young Parents and Babies Program provides young parents, expectant parents, and their babies with a safe and secure place to call home. Established in 2010, the program addresses the root causes of adverse childhood experiences, thereby interrupting the cycle of intergenerational trauma.
Our presentation emphasized the YP&B program’s commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for young parents and their babies. This foundational element is crucial, as it facilitates the development of healthy parent-child attachments, ensuring the safety and well-being of both. Through engaging visual storytelling, we showcased the program’s three key stages—Assessment, Learning, and Transition—each playing a pivotal role in nurturing young families on their journey.
Celebrating Our Achievements
We were also honoured to be recognised as one of five finalists for the Residential Team Award for one of our homes, amongst 20 nominations. This award acknowledges teams within residential care who have collaboratively achieved significant positive outcomes for children and young people. Although we didn’t take home the trophy, this recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our care teams.
Thank you to everyone who supports Lighthouse Foundation and these programs. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young parents and their children.
