On Monday 22 April, Lighthouse held its annual golf day at one of Australia’s best courses, the Metropolitan Golf Club, to raise funds for young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Over 80 players, including corporate partners and Lighthouse supporters, teed off for 18 rounds of golf in beautiful weather and made the most of a fun day out on the green for a good cause.
After finishing their rounds, the groups gathered in the clubhouse for a delicious lunch. Guests heard about the work Lighthouse does to help vulnerable children and young people from CEO, Dr Eamonn McCarthy, as well as StudioHawk Founder and Silver Sponsor, Harry Sanders, who spoke about his own experience of homelessness.
There was some friendly competition with prizes handed out to the team with the best score, as well as to winners of the Nearest to Pin and Longest Drive competitions. There were also silent and live auctions, with great prizes to be won.
Thanks to our generous supporters and guests, we raised an incredible $50,000 on the day, raising vital funds that will help us on our mission to end youth homelessness.
