As the holiday season approaches, many young people face an uncertain future, with no home to go to and no sense of security or warmth. Over 7,600 young people aged 12-24 are currently experiencing homelessness in Victoria, a staggering 19.7% increase since 2016. These young people are among the most vulnerable in our society, often coming into our care having faced significant challenges such as abuse, neglect, family violence, mental health struggles, addiction, and discrimination.
At Lighthouse, we believe every young person deserves a chance to heal, thrive, and feel safe. Our Kinship & Family Support Program is at the heart of our mission to offer stability and healing. Through this program, we provide long-term support to vulnerable children and young people, including access to therapy, practical help, and a nurturing, stable home environment.
