Lighthouse Committee Member and Third Sector 2023 Volunteer of the Year, Michelle Power, recently hosted a Garden Party for Lighthouse Foundation at her home with the support of her good friend, Kim Beckwith. Over thirty local businesses and individuals contributed to the event to make it cost-free so that all funds raised would go directly to Lighthouse.

Over 80 guests enjoyed food and Levantine Hill wines generously donated for the event while local acoustic guitarist, Elise Gaudion, played beautifully in Michelle’s stunning garden.

An impressive $16,000 was raised on the day – with the money going towards replacing the carpet and installing new floorboards in the home during a renovation at the Young Parents and Babies home in Melbourne’s East that Michelle is a committee member of.

We often say it takes a village to raise a child, and the village in Michelle’s local community has certainly demonstrated that.

Lighthouse would like to thank the following sponsors and major donors for their support of Michelle’s event.

  • Colleen and Elias Jreissati from Levantine Hill who reached out to Michelle and offered to provide all the wine and a $1,000 gift voucher for the past two events.
  • Community Bank Warrandyte for their sponsorship of this, and many other, local events
  • Artists Benny Archer (Gallery 7 six 5) and Trevor Beckwith for their donation of original art
  • Ian Heraud for his donation of antiques and memorabilia
  • Mary-Anne Lowe for her donation of 4 tickets to her Oaks Day Luncheon at Bramleigh Estate

Thank you also goes to all the businesses and individuals that supported the event.
